PLEASE NOTE—DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER
In case of inclement weather, First Lutheran will have regularly scheduled worship services on
Saturdays and Sundays. Special circumstances would be broadcast on KKIN radio (94.3).
On Wednesday evenings – if school is cancelled or let out early because of inclement weather, all
Wednesday evening activities will be cancelled.

  • Time to Sign Up for Camp. We at First Lutheran know that Camp is vital to growing in your faith! That
    is why we offer camperships of all sizes for our kids to go! For our youth going into 5th grade this is
    especially great! They get a $300 campership! All other youth get a $150 campership off a full week at
    camp. And then there are other camperships for the other ages and programs! Check out VLM Camps
    and sign up for Camp Hiawatha soon! Prices go up starting February 15th! Contact Pastor Jordan for
    more information!

  • You are invited to attend a Tuesday morning Bible Study entitled “The Heart of Christianity”, Marcus Borg, a
    Professor of Religion and Culture at Oregon State University. He takes us “all the way home” by suggesting that discerning the heart of Christianity involves us in “unending dialogue”. A conversation that will no doubt continue for years. Tuesdays 11:00-12:00 noon weekly. Cost of book $10.00 stay for senior lunch!

  • The Men's Fellowship, which meets at noon on Thursdays is presently studying various churches and denominations. No prior work is needed, just show up with a bag lunch and be part of a lively discussion.

  • PT Church Custodian 20-25 hours per week, duties include cleaning and upkeep of church. Event setup and breakdown. Some ladder work and lifting required. Experience preferred. A commitment to good communication, teamwork and support of church ministries is necessary. Please send resume to:

  • Stamps for Wycliffe Bible Translators We hope you will save cancelled stamps from your mail to give to Wycliffe Bible Translators. Bring them to the Wycliffe Stamp Box in the Fellowship Hall or the Library at church! Thank You!

  • PT Media Specialist We're looking for an enthusiastic individual to assist with the development of consistent and quality content while managing the social & printed media platforms for First Lutheran Church of Aitkin.
    Person should be creative, professional, and literate with the ability to work independently and thoughtfully communicate written/printed word as well as maintain an online presence. Send resume to office@flc-aitkin.com. This is a paid position.

  • Upgrading Lights to LEDs - Our next LED project is to upgrade the light fixtures in the restrooms in the new addition. Since this project began some 4 years ago, we have reduced our electrical use about 30%. We have some funds on hand in the LED fund but need an additional $365 in donations to complete this phase.

  • Let's Build A Church That Lasts! When you give to our Endowment Fund beyond your regular giving, you help build a church that lasts. Since only a portion of the fund is used each year, what you give grows. What grows sustains our mission as a permanent source of support.     3. Tap the notification to open the link associated with the QR code.

  • How do I turn on subtitles/closed captioning on YouTube?
    1. Open a YouTube video.
    2. Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner of the video player to display the video player settings.
    3. Expand the combo box next to Subtitles/CC.
    4. Click the desired subtitle language to begin displaying subtitles.
    You will have to do this each time with any video.

  • ANYONE working with the youth must complete the First Lutheran Church of Aitkin Volunteer Disclosure & Release for Background Check. So, all adults working with Tiny Tots, Sunday School, Wednesday Night Faith, Youth CoffeeHouse, Confirmation, Soup Kitchen, etc., need to sign and submit a new form to the office ASAP. Blank forms are available in the Narthex, the office or on our website.

    If you will be transporting Youth in your Personal vehicle, you must complete a Driver’s License Background Check. Van training will be conducted this fall at different dates to be determined. Anyone operating the Church Van, must go through the Van class. Its brief, but necessary. When transporting youth, the van is used first over personal vehicles. Thank you, The Safety Committee
